Cellular Respiration
Cellular respiration within all living things is the process in which the organism turns glucose into ATP. ATP, also known as Adenosine Triphosphate, is considered by many as the "energy currency of life" (Gsu.edu). This essential molecule is produced from a glucose molecule in the mitochondria (organelles within a cell that are responsible for cellular respiration) using the chemical process of cellular respiration. ATP is then used by all living things to fulfill the energy needed to continue all of life's processes for growth and development.
